1 ½ cups | 180g | All-purpose Flour |
1 tsp | 5g | Baking Powder |
½ tsp | 2.5g | Baking Soda |
¼ tsp | 1.25g | Salt |
½ cup | 120ml | Unsalted Butter |
½ cup | 120ml | Granulated Sugar |
3 tbsp | 165g | SIDR Honey |
2 each | 100g | Egg |
1 tsp | 5ml | Vanilla Extract |
½ cup | 120ml | Milk |
1 each | 15g | Orange Zest |
¼ cup | 60ml | Orange Juice |
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and SIDR honey until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and orange zest.
Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk and orange juice. Begin and end with the flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, you can optionally drizzle the top of the cake with additional SIDR honey for extra sweetness.
Slice and serve the citrus bliss honey cake, enjoying the wonderful combination of orange zest and fragrant honey flavors.
